The canoer group had been told that there was a trail leading from this parking lot, straight across the pennisula, to where Scouts Canada had a cabin. We were told that was the best spot on Dog Lake to put in.

The problem was that we couldn't find it for the life of us. It was all heavy underbrush, through thick forest, up and down serious hills. We didn't care for portaging everything through that.
