After the pie filling has been spread across the bottom of the 'pan', and then you sear the pork chops in a skillet, you lay the pork chops across the bed of pie filling.
Note that we didn't use dutch ovens this time because we didn't think there would be enough room in the one fire ring for all the dutch ovens, plus we didn't think we had enough dutch ovens to cook all the chops. There were 3 of these trays full of meat.
