Recipes for you to try
Here are a few sample ideas that might help add a little flavor to your
campout experience.
Hot breakfast ideas:
- Oatmeal - remember not all Scouts eat meat
- Eggs - plan for two each
- Sausage (brown and serve is easiest)
- Bacon - lots
- Fruit - Oranges or bananas are good for breakfast
- Hot chocolate, hot cider
- Milk, Juice (boxes, tang, etc)
- Egg McTed's
- English Muffin
- Eggs
- Sausage Patti or Bacon
- Cheese slices
Cold breakfast
- Danish/Pop Tarts/Donuts
- Fruit
- Juice
- Milk
- Cold Cereal - remember that we normally aren't doing dishes on Sunday mornings before we leave camp
Lunch
- Sandwiches
- Chips
- Cookies - Oreos are always a favorite
- Fruit - Apples, pears, grapes
- Soup - Check with Scoutmasters before planning this for a weekend
- Drink
Hot dinner ideas
- Macaroni & cheese (& tuna or chicken)
- Ramen (with some protein and/or vegetable—sausage, egg,
onion, etc)
- Pan-fried chicken thighs
- Spanish Rice & Fritos
- Chili w/grated cheddar & Oyster Crackers
- Canned peaches
- Hot Chocolate and/or Hot Cider
- Spaghetti & meatballs
- Burritos
- Personal Pizza's
